The story

MÖNCHENGLADBACH
37 aircraft - 19 Hampdens and 18 Whitleys - to attack road and rail communications. This was the first raid of the war on a German town. 4 people were killed including one Englishwoman living there. 2 Hampdens and 1 Whitley lost.

42 Blenheims to Maastricht, Hasselt and Tongres to bomb bridges and buildings near the bridges in order to block roads. 11 Blenheims lost.

ROAD JUNCTIONS
12 aircraft - 6 Wellingtons and 6 Whitleys - to the area between the Rhine and the Dutch border. No losses.
