121 aircraft - 72 Wellingtons, 25 Hampdens, 24 Whitleys; 80 claimed to have bombed the approximate position of the German warships. 1 Hampden lost.
Minor Operations: 14 aircraft to Le Havre but only 1 aircraft bombed, 2 O.T.U. sorties. 1 Whitley lost from the Le Havre raid.

47 aircraft - 18 Halifaxes, 18 Stirlings, 11 Manchesters - attempted a daylight raid on the German warships. Accurate bombing was claimed and black smoke was reported rising from the Gneisenau. 6 aircraft - 4 Stirlings, 1 Halifax, 1 Manchester - lost.
