The story

CHANNEL PORTS, GERMANY
After a night's rest, Bomber Command dispatched 194 aircraft, its greatest number of the war to date. Approximately two thirds of the effort was devoted to bombing barges in the Channel ports; minor raids were made on many targets in Germany. 187 aircraft, 96 percent of those dispatched, reported carrying out their tasks. 2 Hampdens were lost, 1 attacking the Channel ports and 1 on a minelaying sortie.

174 aircraft dispatched. The majority of the effort was to the Channel ports; most of the remainder was to German railway targets. 8 aircraft - 3 Whitleys, 2 Blenheims, 2 Wellingtons, 1 Hampden - lost.
