11 Bostons to Cherbourg were recalled, 6 Mosquitoes attacked railway targets in the Amiens and Tergnier areas. No aircraft lost.

ESSEN
3 Pathfinder Mosquitoes and 19 Lancasters of 5 Group continued the Oboe-marking experimental raids. 3 Lancasters lost.
Essen reports bombing in the city centre with property damaged and 6 people killed.
Minor Operations: 39 Wellingtons and 6 Lancasters minelaying off the French and Dutch coasts, 3 O.T.U. sorties. No losses.
The first operational sorties by the new 6 (Canadian) Group were flown on this night by 6 Wellingtons of 427 Squadron taking part in the minelaying operation; 3 of these laid mines in the Frisian Islands but the other 3 aircraft had to return early with mechanical difficulties.
