The story

On Monday, 12 July 1943, (a part of) the aircraft of the 106 squadron (RCAF), took off for a mission to Torino in Italy from a station (airfield) in or near Syerston.
One of the crew members was J14171 Flying Officer M O Hovinen RCAF. He departed for his mission at 22:30.
He flew with a Avro Lancaster (type III, with serial DV181 and code ZN). His mission and of the other crew members was planned for Tuesday, 13 July 1943.
