The story

On Thursday, 07 August 1941, (a part of) the aircraft of the 15 squadron (RAF), took off for a mission to Essen in Germany from a station (airfield) in or near Wyton.
One of the crew members was Flight Sergeant R A Ross. He departed for his mission at an unknown time.
He flew with a Short Stirling (type I, with serial N3658 and code LS-E). His mission and of the other crew members was planned for Friday, 08 August 1941.

Three Civilians were killed (husband , his wife, and their son, seven months old). The House in which they lived totally destroyed
