On 1940-10-04, Pilot K McL Gillies (Flight Lieutenant, RAF) with servicenumber 37799 flew a Spitfire I with serial X4320 for this duty: Patrol. His mission was not completed. Circumstances of the aircraft loss: Failed to return. This aircraft was a part of squadron no. 66. The location for the map is the English Channel. Circumstances at the end of this mission for Gillies: he was killed. He is commemorated at: Thornton Garden of Rest, United Kingdom.
