The story

On 1941-08-09, Pilot J M Czerniak (Flying Officer, PAF) with servicenumber P.1283 flew a Spitfire II with serial P8506 for this duty: Circus 68. His mission was not completed. Circumstances of the aircraft loss: Shot down during a Fighter Sweep over, France. His aircraft crashed five miles off the French coast and the pilot drowned. This aircraft was a part of squadron no. 315. The location for the map is English Channel, France. Circumstances at the end of this mission for Czerniak: he was killed. He is commemorated at: Polish Air Force Memorial, Northolt Middlesex, United Kingdom.
