The story

On Monday, 20 October 1941, (a part of) the aircraft of the 99 squadron (RAF), took off for a mission to Bremen in Germany from a station (airfield) in or near Waterbeach.
One of the crew members was Pilot Officer Wagstaff. He departed for his mission at 18:25.
He flew with a Vickers Wellington (type Ic, with serial Z8891 and code LN-). His mission and of the other crew members was planned for Tuesday, 21 October 1941.

Peter Wagstaff: My father was on that flight.Ralph Edgar Wagstaff 108045 RAF Volunteer Reserve  Here is a page referring to the mission from his log book. They took of from Mildenhall. The plane crashed off Lowestoft where they were in a dingy for 10 hours. It was my fathers second War operation of 82
 
He was award the D.F.C. Feb 5th 1943 with 38 Squadron and Bar , 23rd May 1944
