The story

Reorganized in two columns, Polish division progressed then into Chambois, to carry out the junction with the Americans. On August 19th, task force Stefanowicz reached hill 262 (“the Mace”), cutting the roads of German retreat. On its right flank, task force Zgorzelski (24th Lancers, 10th Dragons, 10th PSK) succeeds in entering Chambois, where it was joined in the evening by Capt. Waters, from US 90th infantry division. nbsp; nbsp;
