The story
On the 29th of December Company "B" raided the town of Otaimont. Supported by artillery and 81-mm mortar fire, the men swept into the town with fixed bayonets only to find that the enemy had withdrawn. During the entry of the town a heavy concentration of enemy artillery and machine gun fire harassed the unit. Fortunately the casualties were extremely light and the men withdrew in good order despite heavy Nebelwerfer fire "zeroed in" on the escape route.
