1944-08-10 · Cuves / Manche · France

The story

CUVES, Manche. At the end of the month of July, the municipality is fighting from tanks.

On 3 August, after the breakthrough of Avranches, general Barton pushes its 4th U.S. division south of la Mancha, made him work around Saint – peas and cross the EES to tanks.

With blinds attached to him the next day, his soldiers back River and reinforce the beachhead until Chérencé-le-Roussel, allowing them to firmly resist the German counterattack on Mortain and towards Avranches from 6 to the 12 August. The real liberation takes place after August 10 when the Germans are definitively repulsed.
