The story
Westerbork as shelter for Jewish refugees. About 2000 of them were taken care of in this camp.
After the occupation of the Netherlands by the Germans in May 1940 this camp was transformed as transit camp of the Dutch to the extermination camps.
The photo was made at the beginning of 1940: women peeling potatoes.
