The story
The French collaborator Jacques Doriot, a former Communist politician who had converted to fascism and had fought in the German Wehrmacht on the eastern front, was killed when the car in which he was travelling from Mainau to Sigmaringen in southern Germany was strafed by Allied fighter planes.
