Flight of Hudson N7282 and unknown rank unknown name on 1940-08-07

On 1940-08-07, Pilot, navigator or other duty? unknown name (unknown rank, RAF) with an unknown servicenumber, flew a Hudson with serial N7282 for this duty: unknown operation. His mission was not completed. Circumstances of the aircraft loss: Missing. This aircraft was a part of squadron no. 224. The location for the map is the English Channel. Circumstances at the end of this mission for this unknown person: he died, but circumstances of death are unknown. There is no commemoration location known.

Pilot Officer R B Forbes, Sergeant J Oliver, Sergeant J Grant and Sergeant G Tennant: report of deaths; Hudson N7282 failed to return from mine laying in Norwegian waters, 7 August 1940.
Forbes was the pilot of 224 Sqn Hudson I,N7282,QX-F that left Leuchars at 1049 on 7/8/40 on Special Recconaissance. They went to Norwegian waters where they attacked an escort ship, NB02, in Fedjefjord and at 1410 were themselves shot down by Fw Ladwein of II/ZG76 off Bergen The crew were all KIA and are commemorated at Runnymede except for the A/G, Sgt S Grant, who is buried in Stavne Cemetery ,Trondheim
