Flight of Mustang III FZ140 and Flight Sergeant A J Fellows on 1944-08-01

On 1944-08-01, Pilot A J Fellows (Flight Sergeant, RAF) with an unknown servicenumber, flew a Mustang III with serial FZ140 for this duty: Escort. His mission was not completed. Circumstances of the aircraft loss are unknown. This aircraft was a part of squadron no. 19. The location for the map is the English Channel. Circumstances at the end of this mission for Fellows: he was injured. There is no commemoration location known.

Flt/sgt A J Fellows was my late father on this mission he was returning from he spotted a german officer being driven in his staff car with motor cycle out riders he attacked said same causing it to crash he in turn was hit by ack-ack damaging...

Flt/sgt A J Fellows was my late father on this mission he was returning from he spotted a german officer being driven in his staff car with motor cycle out riders he attacked said same causing it to crash he in turn was hit by ack-ack damaging his controls and also wounding him in both thights and hand with shrapnel he managed to land his aircraft and was later put on a hospital ship which in turn was sunk when fully recovered he returned to active surface
