Flight of Spitfire II P8074 and Sergeant Dvorak on 1941-07-14

On 1941-07-14, Pilot Dvorak (Sergeant, RAF) with an unknown servicenumber, flew a Spitfire II with serial P8074 for this duty: Escort. His mission was not completed. Circumstances of the aircraft loss: Shot down ?. This aircraft was a part of squadron no. 501. The location for the map is the English Channel. Circumstances at the end of this mission for Dvorak: he was wounded. There is no commemoration location known.

The Spitfire landed back at Ibsley where it was repaired and put back service with 501 squadron, being flown by both Ginger Lacey and Squadron Leader Currant. The aircraft is the one recovered from a peat bog in Donegal. Dvorak returned to...

The Spitfire landed back at Ibsley where it was repaired and put back service with 501 squadron, being flown by both Ginger Lacey and Squadron Leader Currant. The aircraft is the one recovered from a peat bog in Donegal. Dvorak returned to service a couple of months later.
