What I can tell you is that Walter was born 4 February 1916, the 3rd of 11 children born to Mary Brueggeman and Joseph Mueller in Neier, Missouri. He entered the army in...

Walter was my grandfather's uncle, and my grandfather was named after him.
What I can tell you is that Walter was born 4 February 1916, the 3rd of 11 children born to Mary Brueggeman and Joseph Mueller in Neier, Missouri. He entered the army in July of 1944 and was sent overseas in July of 1944. He was in France for less than 10 days before he was killed. He was survived by his parents and five of his 10 siblings, Sister Leo Innocent CSJ, Ida Pfahl, Leo Mueller, Martha Rehagen, and Albert Mueller, eight nieces and nephews and many friends and other relatives, who missed him dearly. To this day his two eldest nephews still call each other on the anniversary of Walter's passing to talk about him and I traveled to France to visit his grave this past summer.
