Alt Name: Winton/Ensbury Park. Opened: 1917. Status in 1944: --. Current use: Housing. Remarks: An 88 acre site was purchased in Sept 1916 by the Bournemouth Aviation Company to replace Talbot Village. The Flying School moved here in 1917 and in 1918 it was renamed RAF Winton. The site was handed back to B.A.C. in May 1919 with passenger services to London. It was redeveloped as a Racecourse from 1925 to 1928 but was also the venue for Air Race events. By 1931 the horse racing had ceased and the site was sold for housing.
