Contribution by: Frans en Lea Vermeeren-Kerstjens: "Mijn vader had direct na de oorlog het graf geadopteerd van Flying officer Alec Rushton. Ik begrijp nu pas waarom hij specifiek dit graf heeft geadopteerd. Ten tijde van de crash was mijn vader in dienst als Sergeant in het Amerikaanse leger met het bath. Regiment Limburg (Stoottroeper) hij was op die bewuste 21 april 1945 in Warendorf, slechts enkele kilometers van de crashsite. Deze Alec was nog in leven en is naar het ziekenhuis in Venlo gebracht waar hij helaas kort daarna ook is overleden. Aanvankelijk werden de 4 bemanningsleden in Margraten bij de Amerikanen begraven maar zijn zij later overgeplaatst naar het Engelse kerkhof in Venray.
Mijn speurtocht gaat nog steeds verder en het is erg interessant en boeiend om steeds weer een stukje van de puzzel boven water te krijgen."
