On Wednesday, 03 May 1944, (a part of) the aircraft of the 207 squadron (RNZAF), took off for a mission to Mailly-le-Camp in France from a station (airfield) in or near Spilsby.
One of the crew members was Flight Sergeant L H Lissett RNZAF.
A few days before he was killed in the crash, he had been promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer, R.N.Z.A.F.
He departed for his mission at 22:03.
