Flight of Mustang III HB857 and Warrant Officer A J W Czerwinski on 1944-12-07
On 1944-12-07, Pilot A J W Czerwinski (Warrant Officer, PAF) with servicenumber P.2232 flew a Mustang III with serial HB857 C for this duty: Escort. His mission was not completed. Circumstances of the aircraft loss: Shot down by a German fighter while escorting Coastal Command bombers during a Roadstead operation. This aircraft was a part of squadron no. 315. The location for the map is the English Channel. Circumstances at the end of this mission for Czerwinski: he was killed. He is commemorated at: Polish Air Force Memorial, Northolt Middlesex, United Kingdom.
