Flight of Spitfire IX MA847 and Flying Officer P F Waterman on 1944-01-03
On 1944-01-03, Pilot P F Waterman (Flying Officer, RCAF) with an unknown servicenumber, flew a Spitfire IX with serial MA847 for this duty: Ranger. His mission was not completed. Circumstances of the aircraft loss are unknown. This aircraft was a part of squadron no. 65. The location for the map is the English Channel. Circumstances at the end of this mission for Waterman: prisoner of war (PoW). There is no commemoration location known.

"As far as I know F/Sgt. W.T. Whitmore from the 65 Sqdn crashed at Clinge on the 3th of January 1944 about 15:30 local time, in a field near to the extention of the Bisschoppendreef at Clinge. (Clinge is a very small town in the region of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, part of the province Zeeland, all in the Netherlands.)
