3 Irish Guards releaved by 1 Welsh Guards
1 Welsh Guards: This was slightly modified the next morning by the news of a move, but it only proved to be a trip a few miles down the road to COURTEIL, to take over from the 3rd Battalion IRISH GUARDS, and evening saw the Battalion comfortably established, with the exception of No. 4 Company who had a bit of shelling.
The Orderly Room was in a large Chateau, previously held by the Germans, either as a H.Q. or a Hospital - it was never established which.
