Nomination Emmy Award for Omaha Beach, Honor and Sacrifice

with music of Fred Vogels

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – World War II Foundation/Tim Gray Media documentary films were nominated for eight regional Emmy Awards at the 39th annual Boston/New England Awards competition.

Nominations were announced Tuesday night in Boston.

Films nominated include: “Omaha Beach: Honor and Sacrifice” and “The American St. Nick.” Both documentaries are airing now on PBS stations.

Founder and webmaster of Back to Normandy had the honor to write the music for this film.

Fred Vogels: "After visiting Normandy for many years and starting to know many of the veterans personally, it was a real privilege to write the music directly from my heart for this historical document. This documentary is one of the most integer and emotional films I have ever seen about D-day. It compete with films like Saving Private Ryan, when you want to know what happened on Omaha Beach in the early hours of June 6th 1944". The story of the Veterans of the 29th and 1th Infantry Division breathtaking. A must for future generations! A nomination for the Emmy Award is evident!
