15 Scottish Infantry Division UK

At the outbreak of the was a second line Territorial Army division, being a duplicate of the 52nd (Lowland) Infantry Division. Placed on Lower Establishment in November 1941, it was raised to Higher Establishment in March 1943 and reorganized as a Mixed Division, before finally being reorganized as an Infantry Division in September 1943.

The 15th (Scottish) Infantry Division was reformed as a 2nd Line Territorial Army formation, the duplicate of the 1st Line 52nd (Lowland) Infantry Division and served in the Second World War, where, among other actions, it was part of VIII Corps under Lieutenant-General Sir Richard O'Connor in Normandy and it ended the war on the Elbe River.
