Correction!! Frank Lewis, my father, was hit by anti aircraft fire while dive bombing a bridge. He lost height while trying to open the stuck canopy and had to bale out without turning the plane over. He luckily missed the tailplane, landed in a tree and was picked up by Canadians. The plane crashed at Geldermalsen in Holland as recorded in ASN Wikibase. He got back to his squadron 3 days later and lived till 2005./span>
There are several possibilities in investigating the flight records on Back to Normandy. All the flights are plotted on maps, sorted day by day, by squadron, by type aircraft, by year or month, by location and much more! Don't miss this!!!
