The Algonquin Regiment landing Hill 240
The other objective was Hill 240 at Ecorches and the Chambois crossroads. At that point, the weather suddenly changed in the Germans' favor: A low cloud ceiling limited Allied aerial activity.
Leading up to August 31 1944 the Algonquin Regiment, moving within the 4th CDN ARMD DIV, were tasked with filling the gap to the south at Hill 240, fighting alongside the Polish ARMD DIV.
