10 The Highland Light Infantry to a transit camp at Hayward's Heath.
In the early hours of Tuesday, 13th June, 1944, the Battalion split itself in two. Very temporarily we thouglit, but it was to be nearly ten days before we were re-united. Shortly after breakfast on that morning, the marching part of the Battalion donned that most hated of all Army orders, Full Marching Order (F.M.O.), and marched away to STEYNING Station, thence by train to a transit camp at Hayward's Heath.
