On Wednesday, 14 April 1943, (a part of) the aircraft of the 424 squadron (RAF), took off for a mission to Stuttgart in Germany from a station (airfield) in or near Topcliffe.
One of the crew members was 657735 Flight Sergeant J E Malkin. He departed for his mission at 21:12.
He flew with a Vickers Wellington (type X, with serial HZ273 and code QB-G). His mission and of the other crew members was planned for Thursday, 15 April 1943.
